July 2018

I hope and pray that this newsletter article finds you doing well.

I think about this month and it makes me think about our free-dom. In 1776 on July 4th, the Declaration of Independence was signed and we, as Americans, have been able to celebrate free-dom ever since. As Christians, we know what freedom really is because in John 8:36, we read, If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. I am so thankful for those who were willing to die, and many did so, so that we could be free. But, there is One who came from heaven to earth, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, went to a cross and sacrificially died for you and me, and shed His blood for that we could have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10). And all that call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13).

Now that’s what I call freedom!! Knowing that you are saved and do not live under the rule of sin any longer. The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8-9, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast. Thank God for Freedom!! As the song says, I’m so glad to be called an American, but I am glad I can say that, I am so glad to be called a Christian. I hope and pray you can truly say I am so glad to be a Christian because if you can say that you are a Christian, you know what freedom is all about.

Please don’t forget about our Bible Story Fun Day.

This is for all children ages 4K-6th grade. It is so much fun and your children and grandchildren get to learn more about Jesus. Come and join us on July 12th & 26th from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Preacher Ty and the wonderful volunteers are looking for-ward to having a good time with your children & grandchildren.

I am very excited about our VBS as are our directors, (Stephanie Duncan & Stephanie Biggerstaff), our teachers, and our workers! Don’t forget to make plans to bring your children and youth to this wonderful week of learning about Jesus and having fun doing it!! Game On is our theme. The adult Bible School will be taught by our Associate Pastor of Senior Adults, Brother Gary Pruitt. Pray for him and plan to come. It will be worth your time and effort.
Let us continue to work together and expect the Lord to do great and mighty things as we continue to go forward together!
Preacher Ty
