Colossians 2:6,7 instructs us, As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. These verses are dear to me and have been a theme in my ministry here at Fairview. We are saved through faith and the Lord instructs us to continue walking with Him in the same way. Daily faith to walk, daily grace from the Lord to go forward. The imagery in verse 7 makes it clear what our individual lives and the lives of our families need to look like. My desire is that our families be rooted in the Lord, built up in Him, established, and flourishing with thankful hearts (and not just at Thanksgiving). Vance Havner once said, The vision must be followed by the venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps-we must step up the stairs. I believe the Lord has blessed us to be in a position of looking up the stairs, church family. By the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit and under the leadership of our pastor, I believe we have yet to see what God is going to do at Fair-view through Fairview. Families rescued from generational sin, changing the course of their children’s future of our community-that is the Gospel we share! The Lord does the work; we just have to be available and faithful.
The Harvest Festival is a great time to bring your Family and fellowship with our church body. But it is also an opportunity to invite the unchurched and reach out to families who need Jesus. Please make an intentional effort to invite someone. Please be on the lookout for future events for your children, youth, and families. I’m here to serve so please feel free to reach out to me if I can help you and your family in any way! God bless!
