April 2019

He is Risen!! We hear this phrase quite often every year around Easter. For Christians, it’s a year round theme, but what difference does it or should it make in your life and mine? 2 Corinthians 4:11 says, For we which love are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake that the life of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. (see also Gal. 2:20). Not my life, my will, but His resurrected life. Oh, that others would see the new life of Christ in us every day. What a beautiful example of this we see in baptism. At Fairview we rejoice with all the new believers who will be baptized April 7th and anticipate many more to glory of God!

I am looking forward to Fairview’s Easter celebration with great anticipation (April 20th @ 10:00 AM). This year will be different than any other. Our families will be welcomed and then directed in groups to specific stations (rooms) in our church. Each station will share a specific portion of the life of Jesus and make it come alive to the children and their families. In the last station, I will have an opportunity to present a clear presentation of the Gospel to all our visitors. Every child will receive a goodie bag with reminders of their experience and the Salvation work of Jesus. Each family will also have their family picture taken and receive a copy soon after in the mail. Please invite your unchurched friends and family.

Special thanks to all our children’s committee members, children volunteers, and our children’s committee chairperson, Stephanie Biggerstaff. She introduced the vision for this year’s theme and with everyone working together, I trust that it will be a wonderful outreach to the lost. I’m so thankful for all of our willing people and their dedication to Fairview’s Kingdom work. I hope this Easter, you and your family will see the Resurrected
Savior in a life changing way; that the new life of Christ would be discovered afresh within the walls of your home. That like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life. Romans 6:4.
