Fairview Baptist Church was organized July18,1918 by group of residents of Fairview Community known also as the Flatwoods. The church was organized under direction of Rev CM. Ellis with nine charter members. By July 24,1919. it had grown to forty members.

Brother Ellis served the church until 1920. Jerry M. Easier was then called as pastor and served for several years. The church has had 13 pastors. The Sunday School was organized October 6,1918 with 98 members.

The first year the attendance averaged 124. There has been steady growth in the church. Rev. TS. Edmonds was first man called to preach and sent out from the church. The educational building was built in 1961 with Rev. James Morgan being the pastor. The present auditorium was contracted in 1968 when Rev. J.D. Broadon was pastor.

 The sanctuary of the church was completely renovated in 2010.
